boys
i would have thought that you would be on my side in this .
safety is of cause number one i do work in the aircraft industry
and know what can happen when corners are cut .
we have heard all the horror stories like guy how ty- raped his brake lines to the prop shaft.
and also only heard the outer day of a car failed the SVA on the badge on the gear Nob was 1mm to high where is the point in that.

i have only just read to day of a cobra that went through a SVT test only to have the rear drive shaft weld broke because it was only tacked welled
that is the sort of things a SVA tester should look out for and not the chrome surround on a smiths gauge. or badge on the gear nob
as long the car is road worthy condition with a full MOT what the problem !

any way
so what the big deal with the age of an engine any way
so you can have a new chassis and body and an old engine that's ok.
old body and chassis new engine not ok

i can't be a issue of the emissions because why would they let you put a forty years old 7.5L big block engine in a new chassis that has never been on the road before
i could under stand new chassis has to have a new engine ,
just goes to show what a load of b0++ks it all is .

you can have two Chevy engines one made in 1969 at 400 hp no cats
one made in 2003 same out put and same emissions that,s not ok
point less argument i think

any way their all ways angle grinder or acid on the engine number !

If you took the time to look up the various regulations (and use the search function here) you could answer your own questions. There is a section on totalkitcar.com that will give you lots of infromation.

As it is, you are going to end up with a car that cannot be legally used on the road and cannot be sold (unless you are a dishonest seller). You may think the rules are b*ll*x, and in some ways I agree, but they are there, and you have to work within them. Just because you don't like them does not make them go away.

We have told you that you are going about things the wrong way, but like I said, please do carry on and waste your money - it IS your money, after all. I hope you don't display such a cavalier attitude towards safety or other regs in the aviation industry.

Of course, you might just be......................a troll!

Dear dear dear me .....

PLEASE read Wilf's posts in detail and do what he's telling you to do? If you're trying to build a cobra replica then we're on your side, if however you're ignoring the rules laid down for getting your car on the road legally then the sympathy will disappear rapidly along with the advice.

SVA is there and you CAN'T ignore it ........

Just how accurate does this data have to be in a CADC?
Would it still work properly if it had a few syntax errors?
