She can therefore do without complaints from her neighbours regarding noisy Cobras on a Sunday! Quite understandable, and not unreasonable IMO.

So let's please keep our feet off the loud pedal whilst we're there.

I'll step off my soapbox now!

It was great to see you guys - let's hope the weather on Sunday was a sign of the summer to come

Good point!

At the end of the day she does not have to allow us lot to use her carpark. Maybe a little sign could be knocked up to remind us lot as we leave would be in order!

(Not that I've been for ages but I will once I've replaced the pedals with an engine!)

Allen perhaps I'm walking where others fear to tread on this subject but my comments are not in the minority, so I feel the need to reply on this one . IMHO if you choose to live near a public house you must expect some noise, after all, it and the houses have been there since seventeen hundreds as I understand so nothing changes. I understand the need for business as regards Jenny but you cant have your cake, cream, jam and eat it if you get my drift. TVR's/Cobras/ Rugby Clubs all make noise and a lot of it on occasions. I think we all try to keep the noise to a minimum entering & exiting the pub re your advise but the chastisement still keeps raising its head on the subject. In this light perhaps we should consider changing the venue even if its only for half of the year? The problem is only going to get worse come the summer with say 20 Cobras in attendance some a lot louder than our own.

Sigh

I could rise to the bait, but I won't .......

Suffice it to say that I like making noise like the rest of us, but I have no problem with saving it for the open road. So let's please leave it at that and move on.

As it happens, I am considering another venue, but as an additional one to the north of Oxford rather than as a replacement - to hopefully attract more people from the northern half of the TV region.

I've had some suggestions previously - but if anyone has any recommendaions, please let me know. I'm thinking of doing this, say, on the first Sunday, so we have two meets per month during the summer months. But it's just an idea at this stage.

They are less likely to complain about the noise too

Guys,

Ditto! As far as I'm aware, people have been more than happy with The Swan to date (bar the fact that some people in the north of the region feel it's too far). The noise topic is a non-issue AFAIC - not worth changing venues for. With the summer coming up, it's great having the outside bar and being able to sit within sight of the cars - and it's a nice big car park without potholes! So let's save ourselves the hassle of finding a new venue.

As I said before, I'm going to seek out a venue north of Oxford as a supplemental meeting place for the summer months - that's what I was seeking suggestions for!
