September Meet - Sunday 21st

Well folks, the weather forecast is still looking very good for Sunday. I knew there was an Indian summer lurking somewhere!

So I feel a drive is definitely on the cards. I don't know where yet - possibly down to the New Forest. So let's meet up at The Swan at 12:15, and we'll aim to set off around 12:45.

See you there!

Hi Alan, I should be OK to make the Swan but might have to give the drive a miss as family over from Australia.

Cheers Tony.

If I can convince my alternator to charge may battery then I'll be there.

I'm a cobra convoy virgin and I've not been for a drive for a couple of weeks, starting to get itchy feed. I don't know how people survive the winter!

Convoy to the Tilford Classic Vehicle Show

OK folks, here's the plan for tomorrrow.

We'll assemble at The Swan in Three Mile Cross between 12:00 and 12:30. We'll then set off in a convoy at 12:45 to the Surrey Classic Vehicle Gathering (aka the Tilford Show). This is taking place at the Rural Life Centre near Farnham, and features 300+ classic cars, bikes and lorries. You can see pictures from the 2006 show here.

I've spoken to the organiser today, and although the showground itself will be closed to vehicles by then, there is a special parking area just outside solely for classic vehicles - so we can all park in there.

It's a 24 mile drive, so we should arrive at around 13:15. If you want to make your own way there, look out for the "Classic Parking" signs, and then for the CRC banner. Entry to the show itself is £7 per person. The show runs from 10:00 - 17:00.

Here's the address:

Rural Life Centre, Old Kiln Museum, Reeds Road, Tilford, Farnham, Surrey GU10 2DL

This is a great show, and the weather forecast is excellent. So let's put this dreadful summer behind us, dust the cobwebs off our Cobs, and end the season in style! And if you really want to enter into the spirit of things, period dress (a la Goodwood Revival) is encouraged .......

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible tomorrow! If anyone is Cobra-less and fancies hitching a ride, I have a spare seat - and there may be others.
