Hi Geronimo

Whilst I have a Dax, I don't have one of their rads so I'm not the best person to help. Other than to say that I thought the current standard Dax setup is actually a capillary sensor fixed to the top hose?

Perhaps yours is an older car with a diferent setup, you didn't really say in your post? If so and you need a replacement perhaps Dax themselves could help?

Sorry couldn't be more help

Dax cooling system

Thanks for response. Its an early 2003 car with Steel Rad. I already talked with DAX and they confirmed that they they changed to an aluminium rad at end of 2003 because supplier went out of business ( and aluminium is much more efficient). They could not remember temp sensor details!?

We have one of the old steel rads in our car (Simon dug one out of the archives for us). Even so, no temp sender / switch in the rad itself. The switch is in the top hose. Europa sell quite a neat part.

Dax Plumbing

I have a big shiny brass thing with a couple of wires and an electrical connector screwed into the nearside tank of a radiator (that appears to be lying on it's side).

The only thing that I have in my top hose is water ( I hope).

However, thanks for your help.
