Latest Pics of body fitting

Some photo's from last weekend, as you can the body has had to be cut in half to get the right wheel/wheel arch relationship.

Also the cross member at the back of the fuel tank (where the seat belts mount) has been removed. This is due to the body being moved further to the rear of the vehicle to allign the wheel arches properly.

The rear end of the chassis has also been modified so that the body can be mounted lower. Previously, the rear boot plate was too high but this has now been removed and remodelled so that the boot fllor will be lower.

Many thanks to all who helped :-

Peter, Murdo, Iain and the person with a wealth of ideas....Tinka.

Without these guys I can honestly say I would be in dire straits.

Cheers

Howard,

Holy Sh*t mate!!

Impressive set of pics and actions taken, but it doesnt say much for the Viper Kit ??

I know we've all had our trials and tribulations with our cars whilst building, but the problems that you have encountered, are ridiculous in the extreme!!

If it were me I would have thrown it back at them (Viper), weeks ago and told them to sort it!. :whatever: :whatever:

Still, I am pleased to learn that you are making progress. Carry on the good work.

Re: Latest Pics of body fitting

It was a pleasure to help out where I could Howard :thumb: just a shame it appears to look worse when we left than when we first got there. Forget to get my old scoop out of your boot, If at all possible could you bring it with you when you meet up with Iain. :thumb: Cheers

Have to admit Dave it is a nightmare kit to build. Having to modify brackets is one thing but the necessity to cut the body in half to get a good fit is beyond most of us It does look really good now it is done though with the wheels back in the centre of the arches, it will all be worth the hassle in the end. By the way there is another Classic Replica there and that has also had to be cut in half to get it to fit properly.

I'd forgotten Iain had put your scoop in my boot until I opened it to get my golf clubs out on Sunday. Of course I'll bring it back when I meet with Iain, over Xmas hopefully.

I'm going to phone Phil tomorrow to chase him up. Once again thanks for all your help and you and your familly have a great Xmas.

Cheers

Next time you see a Viper on the road or at a meeting just think about the hell that the builder has gone through.

When I started I knew it wouldn't be easy but nothing prepared me for this, good job I don't crack easy and so many people have helped me out.

Cheers
