Cobretti Rear End

Hi,

Does anyone have any pics of a built up cobretti with jag diff and running gear attached?

I'm building one up and seem to be missing a few parts. is the diff bolted directly to the chassis or do you still use the jag diff carrier?

Are there any rear mounts for the diff?

thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Cobretti Rear End

Oops!

Sorry, not been around for a while. I have some pics of a Classic Replicas Viper back end (Jag based). Let me sort them out and I'll post you up some.

Just as a tip, the Diff mounts directly to the chassis. You do not need the original diff carrier...

Cheers...

Thanks mate, back end almost ready to bolt on now. Your chassis looks slightly different to mine - but then again mine is over 6 years old. If you don't mind me asking what shocks are those?

Re: Cobretti Rear End

Andy,

My chassis is V12 Jag based so it may look a little different to yours if you have a V8 chassis.

The shocks are Avo's

Cheers...

Ian,

Sorry to go off at a tangent, but I see in your pics what looks like a strap between the lower spring/shock mount and the hub carrier pivit bolt. Is that an original Classic Replicas part?

David

Re: Cobretti Rear End

Hi David

As Martin said it is an original Jaguar part. I had them fitted to my XJS donor car and decided to keep them there although not everyone seems to fit them or maybe not all Jags came supplied with them.

I can't really see what they do anyway.

(Before anyone comments on the lack of thread sticking out the end of the nuts in the attached picture, they were not tightened at this stage)

Craig.

Re: Cobretti Rear End

Thanks Guys,

All becomes clear.

They were not fitted to my XJ12 donor, so I'll stop worrying!!

Cheers,
