Windscreen Height

This is specifically for a Viper build but any model measurements would be greatly appreciated.
I'm looking for vertical measurements from top of windscreen to the top of the scuttle, to the front edge of the seat and to the floor of the cabin please.
just need approximate figures cos it seems a bit low...
Thanks in advance
Declan

Re: Windscreen Height

Just do what looks correct, I have just helped Iain and Howard to fit their screens ( both Viper builds ) and they are both at different angles. These cars are not symmetrical so you will have to just fit things by eye that look correct. You might find if you do it all by measuring it will look awful.

Re: Windscreen Height

Thanks
I'm looking at a non standard screen though and trying to see if its going to work at all or not. I know what you mean about symmetry or rather free form mouldings.
I have since seen some cars with the little hemisphere windscreens in one of the Cobra books so am not quite so concerned.
I'd still like one floor to top dimension though.
Cheers

Re: Windscreen Height

I'm going up to see my car tomorrow. If it is possible to put the screen on then I will and I'll get you a measurement. However, it may be dodgy as it should be in the booth having paint appied!

Cheers...

Re: Windscreen Height

Have to admit to a big twinge of jealousy Iain! You're not allowed even breathe near that car until the paint is dry! Hope it all goes according to plan and the shine is blinding!
You got any more build pics? particularly that mod to the rear arch.
Best of luck
Dec

Re: Windscreen Height

Would it not be a good idea to get the side screens fitted and line the angle of the screen up against them? Or am i wrong?
Not that i am anywhere near that stage.
Cheers

Re: Windscreen Height

Thanks Kevin/Helen.
I was thinking that but haven't got side screens yet...was thinking of making my own up.

Got distracted by getting my engine started. What a joy! If you have one... DO IT!!
All of a sudden exhausts are much more important.

I know, I know, I'm all over the shop but thats buying 'part builts' for you.

Anyone any tips for a handbrake cable for Sierra hubs that doesn't leave the handbrake under the dash?! Really don't fancy cutting the one I have(original Sierra).

Cheers

Re: Windscreen Height

Hi Dec
We are in the exact same boat as you, eg part built, nothing fits etc etc.
I bought a hand brake cable from Pilgrim (as used on the sumo), i had to modify the end that joins to the handbrake (i used the granada handbrake lever, instead of the sierra). Pilgrim were very helpful, and warned me lots of times that it might not fit as it was not a sumo. Most companies would have just sold the part outright.
I think Dean (Steamy_rotter), used a peugeot cable for handbrake, and made up his own 'balance bar' to allow for the self adjustment of left/right brakes. I think there is a post on handbrake cables some in the viper forum.
We are not SVAing with windscreen, so i will buy a hood kit after the SVA, then worry bout fitting the windscreen. I can't realy remember if there are 'quaterlight' windows and door windows on these things, or whether they are all in one.
I know what you mean about exhasts, ours ticked over a lot better with lambda sensors and sidepipes.
Keep in touch and informed of progress.
Best Wishes
Kevin
