Just brought my Viper, I love it. Anyone in Somerset?

Just a quick note to say hello. I have just brought a Viper, 3.9Ltr V8 Rover engine. Really pleased with it, although I have already had to correct some of the mistakes from the previous owner. These cars look very bespoke to me, seems to be made up as you go along.

I have attached a photo.

Nah seriously they are somewhat of a black art, there is no such thing as a typical viper. Just look at the Viper section and have a read.

No wasn't me in Corston, I have had to take the manifolds off today, took me 8hrs.

Found both sides had cracks in. Going to get our Coded welder to sort them out.

Had to make up a took to get to the bolts, bitch of a job.

Hopefully be going by next weekend.

Thats nice looking Viper? I hope it is anyway, tell by the flaired arches?

Sits nice and low on the back end, how do you get it to look like that, I reckon my one is a bit high, will look for some smaller springs.

Viper Suspension - again

Gents, I've recently had the misfortune to part with my hard earned cash and bought a Viper. Yes I know, I should have let the moment pass and bought a decent sports car, but it must be the mid-life crisis thing that over-ruled the brain. Anyway, I've done it now, so to save face I've got the bloomin' thing on the road! I've seen lots of posts about suspension set up and looking a Hilux van etc. but I've not found any definitive spec for the front and rear suspension set up. So, my question is, I have a Brightwheel Viper, its' Granada Mk1/2 based suspension is currently fitted with the standard car springs and shocks - just so that I can roll it around the garage and go vroom vroom you understand! The engine/box are Rover SD1/LT77, what I want to know is this, does anyone have the part number(s) of coil over spring shocks and springs including length etc. from AVO or whoever so that I can get some - for both front and back??!! When I spoke to AVO they asked me questions about corner weight and spring lengths etc. However, I'm in the chicken and egg situation at the moment meaning that I don't know the weight of the car or the length of travel 'cos i've not finished, but I need to know so that I get it on the road!! - know what I mean?

Someone must know - don't they?? Any help would be really appreciated.

thanks,

Woodrush

p.s. I asked Bob B too but still not able to get a definitive answer

I phoned Dave at Dampertech.

He is very helpful and can explain the easy way to decide whats needed.
Phone number (0)1709 703 992 ...

I am not too sure about the rear for a granada but the corty would need a fair amount of work on the rear to strengthen the shock mounts to accept coil overs.

Regards
