| Hi Dean Good luck, i would dearly like to help, but 250 miles gives me a good alibi. We cheated and created a sling and lowered shell from the garage roof, that way i could manage it nearly on my own. Mind you, it did damage quite a few edges of the fibreglass shell. I'll be thinking about you Dean as I am in the garage doing my carpets Cheers Kevin

| Thanks for the support chaps. I didn''t wimp out. Wish i had though.... Even without the floor pan attached it was still a bleedin pain in the bum. Temp fitted with 6 screws and needs some brackets fitted at the front but not too bad. Only about 5mm off to the right hand side at the front but the brackets will sort that out. Starting to look like a Cobra at last

| Dean, When my body was fitted we made up some brackets, welded them to the chassis and then fibreglassed them into the body. There were two brackets (1 either side) :- 1. Approximately where the front wheel is going from the chassis cross-member up to the inside of the wheel arch. We made the shape of the bracket to contour the body so effectively the front of the body was being supported by the chassis. 2. At the front where the air vents are. We then riveted the body to those brackets so that the body was well supported at the front. 3. At the rear of the door opening. A bracket from the chassis up to under the door opening (latch end, not hinge end). Since I'm a "lardy" sized chap I will be putting weight on that part of the car when getting in and out and I'm pretty sure that the body alone would not support me. Then it's a case of fibreglassing the back of the car to the chassis and fibreglassing all the inner wheel-arch's in. If it turns out anything like mine then the body should be pretty solid. If you need pics then let me know. Actually I'm not sure I have any of those particular mods but I can look see! Hope this helps... |

| Cheers Iain I had added some uprights on the front to allow supports to be fitted as per piccy. Some snaps of your brackets would be appreciated if you can. Miine were a little high so have doctored them a tad to allow some adjustment. I am also adding brackets to the front off of the lower mounts I made for the radiator so the front of the body will be completely supported from both points. The harness mount cross member is supporting the rear. A few more tweaks here and there and I should be reasonably happy to start with the glass

| Well last night I performed the first stab at what will be a LOT of glassing.... Glassed the front brackets to the body. As it was my first bash I hope I mixed the batch correctly Will find out tomorrow when I go down again.

| Thanks Chris Downloaded a lot off their site. Just a word to anyone embarking on glassing... Completely cover your arms.. There are so many awkward spaces that you will get it everywhere!!! At least my right arm has slightly less wind resistance!!! Got most of it stuck in. Boot was about 1/4 to 1/2 inch off to one side but is slightly better now hanks to a length of 2X1!!
