Exclamation Broken Steering Rack

Just a word of warning to all Viper owners.

I have just had to replace my Escort MkV steering rack as it had broken at the drivers side mounting point (part of the Aluminium casting) The actual cause of the problem was down to the two mounting brackets not being in line (in the same plane). If I had tightened up the rack the opposite way to the way I did when I originally fitted it then it would have been obvious to me that there was a problem.

Yet more evidence that Classic Replicas had no jigs for the chassis!

Anyway, A good repair has been made and a new rack fitted. It's off to Track Developments tomorrow and hopefully it should come back a lot better!

Check your racks!

Cheers...
