    Holley Commander 950 TBI

    Hi Guys,

I'm considering fitting a Holley Commander 950 TBI system.

Has anyone any experience of this system? It is straightforward to fit and what sort of performance improvements does it provide?
    Best regards,

Hello Richard we have installed this system on our Chevy 355cid entry level cobra engine..and sending it off to Spain..the lads in Spain are going to road test the little beast and report back to us..we can keep you posted on there
    results.
The Holley 950 Commander system is a very nice easy bolt on system.....
As far a tuning and calibration via lap top computer..i'm old school and i'm leave'n that up to the computer guru's in Spain..

Richard, empirically, I can't see huge power gains emanating from any TBI system. If it was efficient, then we would see it fitted to a lot of production cars, which we don't. That could of course be down to emissions control, rather than BHP.

I can, on the other hand, understand why MPI systems work better than carbies - every cylinder receives just the fuel it needs.

I'm fitting an EFI system to my 383 SBC but its not for top end performance improvement.

I'm hoping to be able to have better control over idle performance and initial acceleration off idle as well as ability to have closed loop control with a wide band O2 sensor to help with emissions.

In essence I'm hoping to have a smoother, more controllable 450BHP engine with EFI than it wold be with Carbs.

As for EFI systems the Holley has some good feedback and support thou I'd suggest you look at the Multipoint systems rather than TPI as they're meant to be really good.
