I tied a bike rack to the roll bar and the rear nudge bars and put 2 bikes on it. The only issue I had was the bikes scratching the paint, and frightening the other road users by using a bike rack with bikes on a Cobra...

Sort of defeats the object though when you can't open the boot!

Why can't you open the boot???

The rack bolts through the boot lid so it can be opened.

Yes, a closer look shows that. I think there's a reflection off the rack that made me think the top mounts were on the rear bulkhead. Doh!

I know of three 289s which use these racks without problems, as long as they aren't overloaded.

I have a "boot bag". Which is designed ti use straps tohold it to the boot it's designed to un clip and be used as a shoulder bag and folds down to a small pack when not in use and waterproof

I strapped mine to the hoops for lemans and it was fine

One obf the others used a rack sitting on a mat so as not to mark the paint and that bungeed on to the hoops

Sorry to drag this up again after such a long time. Did anyone find a solution to this, or even make their own? My lovely wife thinks it would look nice, so I'm investigating further...

    Thanks!

This may have been a bit overladen, and no you couldn't open the boot to get at the huge tent until the bikes had come off.
