Has anyone had any contact with the DVLA recently?
My vehicle registration application form was received by them on the 29th April and i haven't heard anything since. I've tried to contact them today with a combination of phoning and webchat with no success.

    Cheers,
    Mark

I spoke today with the nice man at DVSA about my forthcoming IVA.
I think DVLA and the registration folks are are different branch.

I found the DVSA were really helpful when i was applying for my IVA.
I managed to get hold of the DVLA when i initially sent my registration form (for the V5) but i can't get hold of them now.
When i phone, i get a pre-recorded message saying there is some industrial action so they are short staffed. It then cuts off.

I've tried the webchat and get a similar response. It's almost as though no one is working there at the moment!

I think the DVSA and DVLA are completely separate entities unfortunately.

Phone a very helpful lady whose name is Danielle Dymond 01792 786053.

She went and found my application and then turned it round in less than a week

Not sure she will be that helpful after giving her direct number out on a public forum.

The registration process takes time. Bare with it.

Coincidentally, I got a reply in the post last night from the DVLA.
Apparently i need to provide a few more bits of information (not previously requested!)

    Certificate of Newness
    Built up vehicle report
    original receipts / invoices

The last one is going to be interesting given they included a small envelope and i have a folder full of receipts!

Apparently i can email replies so i think I'll try to share a link to Google drive for my receipts.

Just to clarify, that is not her direct dial number, it is the kits and rebuild department number

Nope that is Danielle’s direct dial extension number.

The generic Dvla number to go through to get to kits and rebuilds is 0834 455 0054

Ok fair enough. It is the telephone number shown on her email signature but it does not state that it’s a direct dial number. I have had other people answer that number so thought it was a direct dial into the kits and rebuild dept.

I found her name and number after some google work so it is already out there.
