    Brake Servo

    Hello
Can anyone tell me from the photo what this brake servo if off and also what brake servo's people are using in their SRV8's?
I have a 3.5L Rover V8 engine with Jag running gear and have just had the calipers refurbed and was wondering if it would be worth refurbing/replacing the servo.
Im also unsure if its the correct one for the job?
    Many thanks in advance

The servo/brake unit for my SR is what was used in the old style Fiesta Corrier vans
I've had it for over twenty years now and seems to do a good job of stopping.
The brake unit in the picture looks like one from an MGB, that was what was
    normally used.

    Hi Chris
That could make sense as i believe the steering rack is off an MGB.
Looking online and they are not that expensive so i might just change the unit.
    Thanks

If it is one of the earlier SR's it will probably have the MG rack.
The.MG rack you have should have track rod extenders fitted
and if it is set up correctly along with correct tyre pressures
you should get resonably good steering without bump steer that
you may hear about from other members on the forum.

    Hi Chris
Yes the rack has extenders fitted and to be fair the steering is not to bad.
I’m unsure of how old the kit is but its registered correctly as a 1964 Southern Roadcraft
So it could be an early one

My SR is correctly registered as a 1975 and as far as I know it is possible
to obtain a period correct number plate like you have .
I have put this on the back burner for the time being due to all the current
hassles that we are going through at present .
When things settle down I will proberbly go about getting a 65 plate .
I am not looking for a personalised plate, just something of that period,
they do come up and are not silly money .
    Chris.
